SAY NO TO A TAKEOVER NOW - SCARF NIGHT

I’ve probably sat on the fence a little when talk of a takeover comes around, I have taken views of both people who say we need the cash to keep up and traditionalists that want to keep the club run how it is.

In light of the recent form, the potential of the team, the fact Arsene has a new contract, and what appears to be a positive end of year financial report, I firmly believe Arsenal should NOT be taken over by Red and White, Kroenke, or any other individual. Fine, Red and White hold 21% of the club and Kroenke 12% but complete control doesn’t seem to bring any benefits to Arsenal.

With the shares trading hand at over £10k a piece surely if Red and White took control of the club, the huge burden of debts run up to finance the purchase would end up being transferred to Arsenal. At the end of the day that would be paid for by the fans.

We laughed at Uni-ched when the Glazers’ straddled them with debt. Usmanov see’s Arsenal and undervalued, and a good investment, this means he wants to make money out of Arsenal. As an Arsenal fan do you want to be owned by a man or company whose sole purpose is to make money out of us? The Fans will ultimately foot the bill for any debt that occurs and any profit that Usmanov intends to make.

Something needs to be done now by Arsenal fans to stop this takeover, I can now understand the feelings Uni-ched had. It’s important to keep things positive inside the ground but outside and away from the players something needs to be done.

I also understand fully why Armand Traore was apparently carrying a knuckle duster at the home of shite on Saturday. Those thugs would attack anyone, even with his pace, it’d be likely the cowards would attack you from behind. He went to the game with a pal to watch but ended up getting stopped at the turnstiles. Oops!

The squad for tomorrow night is, Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Senderos, Gilberto, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Diaby, Flamini, Adebayor, Van Persie, Fabianski, Walcott, Song, Rosicky, Denilson, and Eduardo. Senderos is likely to come back into the centre of defence , Gilberto may move into midfield, and I doubt Wenger will try Diaby at left midfield again.

It should be an interesting night with hopefully an Arsenal win at the end of it.

Don’t forget to bring your scarves.

  1. I can’t help but find the Sevilla match a must-win game. Not because mathematically it’s any big deal if we even lost the game, but because I think it goes way deeper than qualifying. As much as I have the utmost of genuine faith in Arsenal’s ability to win anything this year, I still feel like we are a fragile team in that we get very frustrated when things don’t go our way. So far this season we’ve over come that obstacle every time, but I think it’s very important that we don’t sit back in any way shape or form and accept anything less than the best if we want to really be seriously competitive in every tournament this year. For example they must really look to top the group and they should be taking 9 points from the coming 3 games in the league. Last year every time we dropped points badly we all just said ‘never mind, we’re only 2 points behind the leaders’, then we were saying ‘only 8 points, we can make it up’, then ‘12 points’ etc etc. In the same respect Arsenal really must be seriously aiming to top the group and take all the points from every tie in which they are favourites and I feel they must be aiming for 12 points or more in the group stage this year. It’s not only about winning, or qualifying, but about developing that aura of being untouchable which only comes from taking win after win after win. Arsenal have every chance to do that in the group stage and over the coming league fixtures and there is no reason why they should find anything less than good results in both competitions acceptable.

  2. There is an opportunity to get 18 points and send a message around Europe. This is the toughest game though, kick it off with a win and it’s there for the taking.

  3. P.S. I agree entirely about the take over stuff. Perfectly said.

  4. finally somewhere else who doesnt want this takeover, iv read so many comments from supposed gooners on other sites who seem to want us to become the next chelski, we have a great manager, a great team in a great position, and also a great board, if arsene did have millions to spend (which it seems he does anyway as its been reported we the 2nd richest club) he wudnt spend it anyways and rightly so, in my eyes david dein is the only thing bad about this season so far and we need to show him and any1 else who thinks they can buy arsenal that we r not for sale

  5. Your bang on Trystan, Wenger would not spend it, that’s half the point, these guys can invest and know it won’t cost them what it has cost Abramovich for a draw against Rosenburg.
