End to International, yes!
September 12, 2007 on 10:03 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | 1 CommentThe International week comes to an end tonight with England winning against Russia. Eduardo grabbed another goal for Croatia in the 6-0 mauling of Albania. Gallas didn’t make it back for France but is still in with a shout of playing on Saturday, Diarra also played, at right back?!? He was on the losing side, Scotland beat the French in Paris, the 1-nil result puts the Scots top of a group containing Italy and France. I won’t be answering any texts from ArsenalScotland this week!! Van Persie also played in the Dutch’s win over Albania.
Danny Fiszman will not be selling his stake in Arsenal, the major shareholder said, “I have not set a price because I haven’t thought about selling.” The move to the new ground has made him more determined to keep his shares in Arsenal, “Moving to the Emirates Stadium was like moving into a dream home.” I think the presence of David Dein makes the other board members more determined to keep the club.
AWIMB had an article on their site today on their worst ever Arsenal players, surprisingly Helder was on there, the people saying him obviously weren’t there when he ripped apart Norwich at Highbury in 1995. Some players haven’t even had 1 good game. Also suggested was Steven Morrow, the one armed bandit, what a legend. A more sensible chap put Vince Bartram and one game wonder John Kosmina, both fair but nobody mentioned Ian Selley, surely the worst player to play in a European Cup Final for Arsenal? Mark Flatts? Igor Steponavos takes some beating at the back!! 33 second Jason Crowe? Who is the worst, we’ve had some dodgy old players over the years it’s a hard choice to make.
Theo Walcott had, for him, a poor performance last night for England U21’s, he can’t work miracles every game for them. U21 manager Pearce insists Walcott’s substitution was tactical but feels he needs more minutes on the field for Arsenal. Pearce went on to say, “Theo will play his part but he is just one young man, the youngest, who is playing his part in a squad of players looking to establish themselves at international level and club level.”
Eduardo is looking like he’s sharpening his tools for the scum on Saturday. Wenger has a tough choice ahead of the game as Adebayor will also cause the Spuds problems with his power in the air. I can’t wait for kick off.

Bacary Sagna is back for the trip to the scum, Gallas, Senderos, Lehmann, and Eboue are all ruled out. Kolo Toure looks set the partner Gilberto at centre back with Sagna or Flamini at right full back, Clichy will play left back. Wenger said, “(at Centre Back) I have Alex Song who has played in this position and Justin Hoyte too.” Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
One thing I didn’t know is that there is still a Highbury up and running and it will feature an FA Cup tie this weekend. FC United of Manq play at Fleetwood Town, it may be worth a pilgrimage to the North West one day. The match looks set to be a 3,000 sell out.
The Mirror see Bendtner in January, temporarily on loan, after his moaning session earlier this week. Sunderland are likely to take him but I would think Brum would also be back in for the Dane.
Luckily I don’t comment on everything, Mr. Usmanov is pointing his legal Arsenal at Gooner Blogs who discuss his past. The Uzbek is annoyed by comments made about him and his time and reasons for being in Prison. I certainly won’t be going any further into that.
Spuds are anxious about playing the top team in North London this Saturday. The Loser from the Scum Journal said, “Don’t forget they have the weight of disappointment going back nine years” he went on to say, “It’s a sign of a deeper-seated insecurity from what has gone before.” I can’t wait to hammer those chumps!!
We are ready to heap pressure of the scum
September 14, 2007 on 8:22 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | No Comments
Legend Perry Groves says, “It’s incredible isn’t it, we were supposed to be the club in crisis while Spurs were going to be the top dogs in north London and steal our place in the top four.” Perry was talking to the Ham & High “But, as usual, it looks like an umpteenth false dawn for Spurs while we are playing attractive football and getting all the plaudits. It’s basically business as usual in north London.” Old Ginger locks certainly knows how to give it, he also speaks the truth!
Looking forward to our songs tomorrow, ‘we laughed ourselves to bit as Tottenham got the shits’, ‘La Sagna wooooooohhooooo, Las Sagna wooooooohhooooo’, following Pascal Chimbondas arrest in the week I’m sure he deserves a rendition of, ‘Your supposed to be in jail’. Oh 2 be a GOONER!!
Following reports that Bendtner could be off in January, Wenger said in his press conference today that he wants and needs Hoyte and Bendtner for the season and they will no be going anywhere in January.
Wenger also said he expects the players to be lifted by him signing his contract and that the players will be ’switched on’ for the challenge tomorrow. The scum are under pressure and we want to heighten that pressure.
Diarra would have been likely to start against the scum but is now unlikely to play from the beginning after playing twice for France already in the last 7 days. He makes the squad and Wenger said he likes Lassana because of his ‘fighting spirit’ so he can at least follow us up the Seven Sisters and sort those morons from Shite Hart Lane out.
The Arsenal squad is; Almunia, LaSagna, Gilberto, Toure, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Diaby, Rosicky, van Persie, Manu, Fabianski, Eduardo, Flamini, Walcott, Diarra, Song, Hoyte, Bendtner.
A quick congratulations to Tom Bradford who won the two tickets to the Sevilla game on Wednesday night. See you there.
As you can sense I am up for tomorrow. We want a win, however it comes, it will be nice walking back up the seven sisters with another three points, it’ll be even nicer getting in the 12pins after the game to celebrate the win. Come on you gunners.
Scum 1 v 3 Arsenal
September 16, 2007 on 8:24 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | No CommentsPerfect, the scum were given hope that they could finally beat the Gooners, only to have it dragged away from them by Cesc and Ade.
The day started early as these away days at the scum now always seem to. 10am in the 12pins for some wetting of the appetite before a short bus ride up the seven sisters. Arsenal started the game in an unbalanced style with Diaby playing on the left of Midfield. Almunia was out of position for a free kick and it let the scum take the lead. It woke the Spuds up for 5 minutes or so. Arsenal had chances in the first half but they were much better in the second half. Cesc came into his own and controlled the midfield. Adebayor was also lifted. Diaby went off for Rosicky and it balanced Arsenal out. The Gooners equalised on 60 minutes. Cesc floated a free kick over and Adebayor headed it in. It was a relief at the time. Almunia was looking a little shaky and the scummers missed their chance to take the lead, Cesc was not so wasteful. He crashed in a goal from outside of the area. We went mental. I have to say I ended up on the floor with a few lads crushing me from above. Get in, the spuds would not recover, they were on the floor to. Jol was serenaded with ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’. Although there were only 10 minutes to go, the scum could have equalised, Bent being a gooner, done us a favour and spanked it wide. Then something really special, cesc chipped the ball to Ade who spun and volleyed it in the edge of the box. It was a great goal, along the lines of Van Persie, v Charlton last season. It ended up being a good Arsenal performance, and a brilliant display from Cesc Fabregas, he has flourished under the limelight. Wenger said, “It shows our spirit and belief and I was very happy with our game and our mental strength and togetherness. We have showed them all again.” Whatever any scummers says to you this will hurt, the hope they had at the start of the season has gone. I was nervous in the build up to the game, I could not stand losing to the thugs from the lane. They may say it’s okay we started like this last year, but who cares where you end up when your in a battle against your local rivals, who cares if we lose next week, when your 1-down and facing the biggest amount of stick you’ve ever had, they’ll care they lost the lead again, they’ll care when a defeat against Arsenal leads to their board sacking their boss, they’ll care when they get some random bloke in to run the club who sells off the most over-valued squad in the country to get in his type of players, they’ll care when yet another manager tells them ‘we have a five year plan’. One things for sure, after beating the scum, ‘we are top ‘the league!’
Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Gilberto, Clichy, Hleb (Song 90), Cesc, Diaby (Rosicky 56), Flamini, Adebayor, Van Persie (Denilson 85). Subs Not Used: Fabianski, Walcott.

Sevilla News and Takeover looms
September 17, 2007 on 7:52 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | No CommentsGoal of the weekend, Adebayor, player of the weekend, Cesc Fabregas, top of the league, Arsenal. You wouldn’t think Arsenal were a club in crisis. Top of the league with a game in hand at that, let’s crack on, Wednesday is a massive game and we are bang on form and ready for Sevilla.
Sevilla coasted to a 4-1 win at the weekend so they are likely to be up for their first Champions League match too. Both the other teams in our group drew at the weekend, let’s hope they draw with each other on Wednesday.
Former Scummer Kanoute recons he can help his side ‘block’ Arsenals’ experienced Champions League stars. Kanoute thinks Arsenal are weak defensively and that is how they plan to beat the Arsenal. Sevilla have a fully fit squad ahead of their match against us. No excuses then Freddie.
Walcott has told Wenger it is a massive year for him, Wenger thinks the same, he said, “If you don’t get in the team at 18, 19, 20 doubts start. He’s at an age now where you expect him to exert his personality and turn up in big games. OK he will still look young on occasions but as well it is [time] to show that this guy can be a player.”
“I think he will.”
In a World where shares are dropping, Arsenal stock is rising, today 320 shares in Arsenal were sold. The cost was £2.6Mil. It is likely to be Silent Stan, or even more likely Red and White. According to the Sunday Papers (People and Mirror) it is thought Kroenke will sell his shares to Red and White. If this happens, Red and White will have a massive share of the club. Red and White own Dein’s 14.5% share, plus possibly today’s 0.5%, and a possible further 12% from Kroenke, that’s a huge 27%+ stake, taking them above the level of Danny Fiszman. Although the 0.5% sold today seems a small move, it could all be adding up nicely for Red and White, while things are going well at the moment on the field, I think fans will see a takeover as increasingly negative.
This news will be shortly followed by Arsenal announcing record profits. The question still remains, why do we need a takeover?
Red and White now control 21% of the club
September 18, 2007 on 7:37 am | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | No CommentsRed and White have been dealing in small shares and now according to Sky Sports News have control of 21% of Arsenal. In a bid to takeover the club they look sure to now try and buy out Stan Kroenkes 12%.
SAY NO TO A TAKEOVER NOW - SCARF NIGHT
September 18, 2007 on 9:07 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | 5 CommentsI’ve probably sat on the fence a little when talk of a takeover comes around, I have taken views of both people who say we need the cash to keep up and traditionalists that want to keep the club run how it is.
In light of the recent form, the potential of the team, the fact Arsene has a new contract, and what appears to be a positive end of year financial report, I firmly believe Arsenal should NOT be taken over by Red and White, Kroenke, or any other individual. Fine, Red and White hold 21% of the club and Kroenke 12% but complete control doesn’t seem to bring any benefits to Arsenal.
With the shares trading hand at over £10k a piece surely if Red and White took control of the club, the huge burden of debts run up to finance the purchase would end up being transferred to Arsenal. At the end of the day that would be paid for by the fans.
We laughed at Uni-ched when the Glazers’ straddled them with debt. Usmanov see’s Arsenal and undervalued, and a good investment, this means he wants to make money out of Arsenal. As an Arsenal fan do you want to be owned by a man or company whose sole purpose is to make money out of us? The Fans will ultimately foot the bill for any debt that occurs and any profit that Usmanov intends to make.
Something needs to be done now by Arsenal fans to stop this takeover, I can now understand the feelings Uni-ched had. It’s important to keep things positive inside the ground but outside and away from the players something needs to be done.
I also understand fully why Armand Traore was apparently carrying a knuckle duster at the home of shite on Saturday. Those thugs would attack anyone, even with his pace, it’d be likely the cowards would attack you from behind. He went to the game with a pal to watch but ended up getting stopped at the turnstiles. Oops!
The squad for tomorrow night is, Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Senderos, Gilberto, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Diaby, Flamini, Adebayor, Van Persie, Fabianski, Walcott, Song, Rosicky, Denilson, and Eduardo. Senderos is likely to come back into the centre of defence , Gilberto may move into midfield, and I doubt Wenger will try Diaby at left midfield again.
It should be an interesting night with hopefully an Arsenal win at the end of it.
Don’t forget to bring your scarves.
Arsenal 3 - 0 Sevilla
September 20, 2007 on 8:09 am | In Arsenal FC, Matches Reviews 2007/2008 | posted by Block19er | No Comments
What a night, a great win against one of Europe’s top sides, 3 goalscorers, a clean sheet, and Mourinho has fucked off!! We’ve been asking him to for 3 years and finally he has listened!! Arsenal took a massive bound towards the knockout phase of the Champions League with a win against our toughest group opponents. Slavia beat Bucharest in Prague 2-1.
Arsenal won the game in the early stages as they came out with good tempo. Arsenal would not let Sevilla get a sniff of the ball, Arsenal cracked a few sighters at goal before Cesc landed one on target, well sort of it hit a defender on the way in, when I say hit, basically it was an own goal. But well done to Cesc for having a shot another thing we didn’t do last year.
TOM CELEBRATES THE GOONER WIN
The Gooners were right behind their team and Arsenal continued to control the second half replicating their domestic form, one thing Wenger will try and do it keep the lads feet on the ground, so far it has been a dream start to the season. I think I may have been dreaming when I read ‘There was plenty of vocal support from the home crowd’, I don’t think I’ve heard that said about us before!
The low point of the evening came at the start of the second half when Rosicky limped off and was replaced by Diaby? Rosicky could now miss matches against Derby, Newcastle, West Ham, Bucharest, and Sunderland with a Hamstring injury. Let’s hope it is Walcott that replaces him against Derby, Diaby is a young talented player learning hit trade in the centre of midfield, surely we have a better option on the left?
Sevilla are a quality side and at one-nil there was a danger they’d come back into the game, Van Persie calmed the nerves just before the hour. Cesc curled in the ball from a free kick near the North West corner, Sagna flicked it on for Robin to stab it home high into the roof of the net, ‘Jump up for the Arsenal’.
Arsenal did let Sevilla back into the game but they never created the chances they needed to grab a goal, Kanoute was always a threat, King Toure was first to every ball that came the way of the former Scummer. Arsenal were able to get break away chances as Sevilla tried to get back into the game. Arsenal finished them off at the death, Cesc unselfishly let Eduardo tuck the ball away from 8 yards after a flowing move. Eduardo ran to the bench to celebrate the strike.
3-nil and a clean sheet things can’t be bad!! In modest fashion Wenger said, “we lost as well balls we shouldn’t have lost, we were one or two times defensively not clean enough, so we can improve in all areas - but there is a real spirit in the team and that’s fantastic to see.” hoping to keep the lads feet on the ground ahead of the testing matches to come. Wenger also said, “overall we didn’t concede and we looked more mature tactically for ninety minutes than one year ago.” Arsenal now have four winnable games against Bucharest and Slavia Prague that could see us qualify for the knockout stages before we play Sevilla again.

Ta Ta Moron-iho / Derby Build Up
September 20, 2007 on 8:11 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | No CommentsSo one headline dominates the News today, Jose Moron-iho has been booted out of Chelski after 6 titles in 3 years. If you ever needed a reason not to want to be owned by a Russian their it is. No matter what old Jose has said, and I still think he’s a prick, he won that shite club two titles. Something none of their fans would have even dreamed of 4 years ago. The thing that will delight Gooners is that his replacement is some nobody from Israel, a man from a nation that Chelski’s chairman seems to have an obsession with.
Enough of that mob and on the Super Arsenal. After a great performance last night everyone is singing our praises, building us up to knock us down more like. Looking ahead to the weekend’s fixture against Derby we have picked up more injuries. Senderos, Hleb, and Rosicky will all be out of the tie. Lehmann, Eboue, and Gallas will all still be out.
Arsenals next European match will be against another manager less club, Bucharest’s’ boss Hagi has quit. Perhaps he’s eyed up the Chav job or he’s just scared of getting drubbed by Arsenal.
Van Persie has been talking about the Arsenals ‘togetherness’ and he recons this team will do great things this season. Flamini is also in confident mood after making his way back into the first team squad. I personally thought he played really well last night and has risen to the Arsenal challenge.
The present and the future look good for Arsenal, my hope for this weekend is that Theo Walcott is given his chance. It is important we give this young talent some pitch minutes, with his pace he will cause Derby some massive problems, they’ll come to Arsenal for a draw let’s hope we don’t let them have it.
F*** Off Usmanov / Walcott could start
September 21, 2007 on 7:56 pm | In Arsenal FC | posted by Block19er | 4 CommentsRed and White Holdings intend to raise his stakes in Arsenal to 30%, according to the BBC Usmanov said, “I want to be in a position that will allow me a blocking stake and will then wait for it to go up in value,”. A Blocking Stake is basically a share in the club that would not allow certain things to happen at Arsenal without his backing. Great!! Paul at VitalFootball seems to agree with our view, to quote his view on Usmanov, he said, “F*** of and leave us alone”.
Wenger has kept Hleb and Senderos in the Arsenal squad for tomorrow but they are extremely doubtful to play. Derby are unchanged from their win over Newcastle on Monday. It should be a good game for Arsenal tomorrow, Gooners will be expecting goals, with the injuries it is hard to see where the shape will come from unless Wenger puts his trust in Theo Walcott. It sounds positive for Theo, Wenger said today, “Gilberto will be back, maybe Theo Walcott will start, I do not know yet. Eduardo down the left can be a possibility as well.” Wenger thinks the Derby game will be tough, I agree with Le boss, it’s a big game because we “we dropped points against these teams,” last season.
Arsene also chipped in his two pennies worth on the Moron-iho saga, Arsene is sure it is not down to results, and said, “Internal differences are always very difficult to assess from outside. But it was brutal, sudden and surprising for me.” He thinks Avram Grunt will take over the chavs and be successful. I suppose he can’t say I hope the fat git falls on his arse!
Something we have been spared for a few weeks is the odd Transfer story, it seems everyone and his dog are in for Macauley Chrisantus. The young Nigerian Striker is only 17 and is being chased by Real, Chelsea, Liverpool, and more.
That’s about all for today, I hope the next post includes a Walcott goal, and most importantly another 3 points for the Arsenal.
